From 23–25 March 2026, the CNRS Néel Institute in Grenoble hosted the CARLA 360 Symposium & Training, a key event in photonics. iPSRS students Melany Koral Soto Carrión and Bianca Garcia, along with Adrian Garza Zapata (M2 student currently interning at ILL), took part.
Over three days of exchanges between academia and industry, they strengthened their skills and gained clearer insight into career opportunities in photonics.

Day 1 – Industry Round Table
Melany and Bianca led a round table with key industry players (STMicroelectronics, mirSense, Teem Photonics, Merck, LYNRED).
Discussions focused on careers in photonics, highlighting soft skills and the link between research and industry.
The day also featured technical talks and a keynote by Nobel laureate Anne L’Huillier.
Day 2 – Training
Training sessions on advanced photonics (nonlinear optics, quantum photonics) combined with hands-on workshops using cutting-edge equipment.
Day 3 – Lab Immersion
Selected for an exclusive immersion at the Néel Institute, they explored several research groups and real-world photonics applications.
